| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | recognize the members of the DeSoto Independent School District |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | board on the occasion of School Board Recognition Month, which is |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | being observed in January of 2023; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The mission of public schools is to meet the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | diverse educational needs of all children and to instill in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | students the ability to become productive members of our |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | democratic society; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Local school board members are committed to the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | principle that all children can become successful leaders, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | school board members work closely with parents, educators, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the community at large to create a solid foundation and vision |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | for public schools; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The exemplary volunteers who serve as members of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the DeSoto Independent School District board have worked |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | diligently to improve the present and future lives of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | schoolchildren in the DeSoto community; these dedicated public |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | officials can reflect with pride on their many accomplishments |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | over the previous year as they look to the bright future ahead for |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the school district, and it is indeed fitting that they receive |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | special recognition on their commitment to education and their |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | many contributions to the community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the DeSoto |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Independent School District board on their outstanding service |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | and dedication and join Texans across the state in celebrating |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | January of 2023 as School Board Recognition Month; and, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | further |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 35 | 35 | | the board as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
