| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize the Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Epsilon |

| 4 | 4 | | Chapter, which is celebrating the 65th anniversary of its charter |

| 5 | 5 | | on June 3, 2023; and |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, is a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | nonprofit organization that supports charitable organizations |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | and underserved communities; for 65 years, the Epsilon Chapter of |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Eta Phi Beta has served communities in Dallas and beyond; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Eta Phi Beta Sorority was founded in 1942 to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | foster high scholastic standards, encourage personal and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | professional growth, and expand awareness of career |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | opportunities for African American women who have |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | entrepreneurial aspirations; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1958 in Dallas, the Epsilon |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Chapter offers opportunities to professional women for service |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | to their communities and for the empowerment of one another; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | through their dedicated community service, the women of the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Epsilon Chapter have championed underserved communities in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | general and especially those Dallas residents who have |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | developmental disabilities; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The residents of the City of Dallas have benefited |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | from the generous women of the Epsilon Chapter who have for years |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | devoted their time and energy to empowering communities in |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | shaping a brighter future; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Epsilon Chapter of |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, on their many uplifting |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | contributions to the spiritual and social betterment of the |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | community and extend to the chapter sincere best wishes for a |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | memorable 65th anniversary celebration; and, be it further |
|---|
