| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, The Group 915 Stars offer individuals with special |

| 8 | 8 | | needs who are out of the school system the opportunity to continue |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | playing sports within the Special Olympics framework; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Joining other talented competitors from across |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Texas, a Group 915 Stars soccer team finished at the top of the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Group A standings to claim the gold medal and the No. 1 ranking in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the state; in addition, a second Stars soccer squad earned first |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | place in Group D, and two athletes collected medals in individual |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | events; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, With their fine showing at the 2023 Summer Games, |

| 17 | 17 | | the members of the Group 915 Stars have become a source of great |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | pride to their families and to their community, and they are |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | indeed deserving of recognition for the skill and dedication they |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | have demonstrated; now, therefore, be it |

| 21 | 21 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |

| 22 | 22 | | Legislature, hereby congratulate the El Paso Special Needs |

| 23 | 23 | | Athletic Group 915 Stars on their medal-winning performances in |

| 24 | 24 | | soccer and other competitions at the Special Olympics Texas 2023 |
