| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, It will be necessary for the Senate of Texas to |

| 6 | 6 | | adopt rules of procedure to govern its proceedings in the trial |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | of Warren Kenneth Paxton Jr., Attorney General, upon articles of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | impeachment presented by the House of Representatives; now, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, That a |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | special committee of seven senators be appointed by the President |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | to prepare and present to a caucus of the Senate to be held on |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Tuesday, June 20, 2023, such rules of procedure for consideration |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | by the Senate; and, be it further |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | RESOLVED, That notwithstanding senate rules governing |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | committee procedures, the committee shall meet subject to the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | call of the chair and is authorized to meet in closed session for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | purposes of deliberation; and, be it further |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | RESOLVED, That the President be authorized to issue a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | proclamation setting a date and time not later than Monday, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | August 28, 2023, for the Senate to convene as a Court of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Impeachment; and, be it further |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the President be authorized to notify all |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | members of the Senate, the Governor, the Board of Managers |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | selected by the House of Representatives, the Speaker of the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | House of Representatives, and Warren Kenneth Paxton of such date |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and time set for the Senate to convene as a Court of Impeachment. |
