44 SENATE RESOLUTION
55 WHEREAS, It will be necessary for the Senate of Texas to
66 adopt rules of procedure to govern its proceedings in the trial
77 of Warren Kenneth Paxton Jr., Attorney General, upon articles of
88 impeachment presented by the House of Representatives; now,
99 therefore, be it
1010 RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, That a
1111 special committee of seven senators be appointed by the President
1212 to prepare and present to a caucus of the Senate to be held on
1313 Tuesday, June 20, 2023, such rules of procedure for consideration
1414 by the Senate; and, be it further
1515 RESOLVED, That notwithstanding senate rules governing
1616 committee procedures, the committee shall meet subject to the
1717 call of the chair and is authorized to meet in closed session for
1818 purposes of deliberation; and, be it further
1919 RESOLVED, That the President be authorized to issue a
2020 proclamation setting a date and time not later than Monday,
2121 August 28, 2023, for the Senate to convene as a Court of
2222 Impeachment; and, be it further
2323 RESOLVED, That the President be authorized to notify all
2424 members of the Senate, the Governor, the Board of Managers
2525 selected by the House of Representatives, the Speaker of the
2626 House of Representatives, and Warren Kenneth Paxton of such date
2727 and time set for the Senate to convene as a Court of Impeachment.
