| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Charity Ballmann, a nursing professional at Medical |

| 7 | 7 | | City Healthcare in Little Elm, was named one of the 25 Outstanding |

| 8 | 8 | | Texas Nurses for 2022 by the Texas Nurses Association; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes registered nurses |

| 10 | 10 | | across the state who have distinguished themselves as resourceful |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and innovative frontline heroes during an unprecedented public |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | health crisis while helping to ensure a culture of compassionate |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | care at the institutions they serve; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Ballmann was honored for her exemplary efforts |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | to foster a positive working environment and for sharing |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | information on best practices with other hospitals; under her |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | leadership, her unit achieved the lowest COVID-19 mortality rates |

| 18 | 18 | | in the HCA Healthcare system as well as high patient experience |

| 19 | 19 | | scores; and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The Outstanding Texas Nurses award brings |

| 21 | 21 | | well-deserved recognition to individuals who have gone above and |

| 22 | 22 | | beyond to serve their patients and their communities, and it is a |

| 23 | 23 | | privilege to join in commending Charity Ballmann for her |

| 24 | 24 | | exceptional contributions to her profession; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
