66 WHEREAS, Mindi Andes, a nursing professional at Baylor Scott
77 and White The Heart Hospital - Denton, was named one of the 25
88 Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2022 by the Texas Nurses Association;
99 and
1010 WHEREAS, This prestigious award recognizes registered nurses
1111 across the state who have distinguished themselves as resourceful
1212 and innovative frontline heroes during an unprecedented public
1313 health crisis while helping to ensure a culture of compassionate
1414 care at the institutions they serve; and
1515 WHEREAS, Ms. Andes was honored for her exemplary efforts in
1616 her educator position, which included converting her hospital's
1717 annual nursing competency assessments into an online system; the
1818 upgrade enabled nurses to complete their competencies much more
1919 quickly than they had in previous years, and she is now assisting
2020 other facilities in implementing a similar process; and
2121 WHEREAS, The Outstanding Texas Nurses award brings
2222 well-deserved recognition to individuals who have gone above and
2323 beyond to serve their patients and their communities, and it is a
2424 privilege to join in commending Mindi Andes for her exceptional
2525 contributions to her profession; now, therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
2727 hereby congratulate Mindi Andes on her selection as one of the Texas
2828 Nurses Association 25 Outstanding Texas Nurses for 2022 and extend
2929 to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her important
3030 work; and, be it further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Ms. Andes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3333 Senate.
