| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Children's Hospital Association of Texas is |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | celebrating Children's Hospital Day on January 25, 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Approximately one out of every ten children in the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | United States lives in Texas, and it is imperative that these |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | children have access to the highest level of comprehensive |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | pediatric care in the country; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, The State of Texas has recognized Children's Health, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the Children's Hospital of San Antonio, Cook Children's Medical |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Center, Driscoll Children's Hospital, El Paso Children's Hospital, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Healthbridge Children's Hospital, Covenant Children's Hospital, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Dell Children's Medical Center at Ascension Seton, Shriners |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Children's Texas, Texas Children's Hospital, and Scottish Rite for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Children as "children's hospitals" for the purposes of the state |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Medicaid program; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, These comprehensive hospitals provide lifesaving |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | care to children across the state and serve as safety nets for their |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | families; the hospitals fund pediatric specialists and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | subspecialists, and as a result, all children have access to the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | care they need, regardless of their family's ability to pay; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, By providing high-quality pediatric care, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | children's hospitals are helping to ensure the health and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | well-being of countless young Texans, and they are indeed deserving |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of recognition for the vital role they play in the future of the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | hereby commemorate Children's Hospital Day on January 25, 2023, and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | commend the state's children's hospitals for their important work; |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | and, be it further |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | prepared for these outstanding institutions and for the Children's |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Hospital Association of Texas as an expression of high regard by the |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Texas Senate. |
