| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was |

| 7 | 7 | | recognized by Airports Council International with a 2022 ASQ Award; |

|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2006, the annual ASQ Awards recognize |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | airports that have demonstrated exceptional customer service based |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | on survey data; in 2022, DFW Airport was honored as one of the best |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | airports in North America serving over 40 million passengers per |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | year; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The cities of Dallas and Fort Worth joined together |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | to open Dallas Fort Worth Regional Airport in 1974; with the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | addition of transnational flights, the facility was renamed Dallas |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Fort Worth International Airport in 1985; over the succeeding |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | years, the airport has continued to grow, establishing its own fire |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | department, emergency medical services, and police force, and it |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | became the first airport in the world to open its own emergency room |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | in 2018; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Located halfway between Dallas and Fort Worth, DFW |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Airport spans around 30 square miles on more than 17,000 acres of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | land, serving passengers from 168 gates at 5 terminals; the airport |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | has earned numerous accolades for its exceptional operations and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | customer service, and it received a $35 million grant from the U.S. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Department of Transportation to further its goal of achieving net |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | zero carbon emissions by 2030; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | indispensable to the transportation infrastructure of Texas, and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | its significant contributions to the Lone Star State and beyond |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | make it a fitting recipient of this most recent honor; now, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | therefore, be it |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |

| 35 | 35 | | hereby congratulate Dallas Fort Worth International Airport on |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | receiving a 2022 ASQ Award from Airports Council International and |

| 37 | 37 | | extend to all those associated with the airport sincere best wishes |
