2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize the Houston Chapter of the Asian Real Estate
4	8		Association of America; and
5	9		WHEREAS, The Asian Real Estate Association of America is a
6	10		nonprofit trade organization dedicated to connecting and
7	11		supporting real estate professionals in the Asian American
8	12		Pacific Islander community and seeks to promote home ownership
9	13		and property investment for Asian Americans and Pacific
10	14		Islanders; and
11	15		WHEREAS, The association, which comprises 45 chapters with
12	16		18,000 members in the United States and Canada, is the largest
13	17		real estate trade organization representing the Asian American
14	18		Pacific Islander population; it facilitates partnership and
15	19		communication among professionals in real estate and
16	20		business-related companies to best serve the AAPI community; and
17	21		WHEREAS, The Houston Chapter of the Asian Real Estate
18	22		Association of America provides critical social and business
19	23		opportunities that support the AAPI community of professionals
20	24		and home buyers, and the organization's efforts contribute to the
21	25		economic health of the entire Houston community; and
22	26		WHEREAS, The Houston chapter continues to be a leader in
23	27		the areas of business initiatives, real estate policies,
24	28		professional development, and community outreach and serves as a
25	29		source of advocacy and empowerment for its members in its mission
26	30		to create sustainable home ownership and property investment
27	31		opportunities; now, therefore, be it
28	32		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
29	33		Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the Houston
30	34		Chapter of the Asian Real Estate Association of America on its
31	35		valuable contributions to the Houston community and extend to its
32		-	leadership and members best wishes for continued ~~success in their~~
