| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The family and friends of Tonja Geanice Fields of |

| 6 | 6 | | Hooks suffered an immeasurable loss with her passing on May 31, |

| 7 | 7 | | 2023, at the age of 58; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Harold and Ouidamae Neal, the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | former Tonja Neal was born in Texarkana on June 11, 1964, and she |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | grew up with the companionship of two siblings, Joey and Ranay; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Fields enjoyed a rewarding career with the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Hooks Independent School District that spanned more than three |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | decades; a woman of deep faith, she was also a dedicated member of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Landmark Pentecostal Church for over 50 years; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Fields enjoyed the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | love and support of her husband, Jay, with whom she shared nearly |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | four decades; she was a devoted mother to her three children, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Casey, Chad, and Miranda, and she delighted in becoming "Nonna" |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to her six grandchildren, Nicholas, Jace, Cason, Annabella, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Noah, and Hudson; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | time will never diminish the joy and love that Tonja Fields |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |

| 26 | 26 | | of Tonja Geanice Fields and extend heartfelt sympathy to the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | members of her family: to her husband, Jay Fields; to her |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | children, Casey Fields and his wife, Natasha, Chad Fields and his |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | wife, Alyssa, and Miranda Bowman and her husband, Tyler; to her |

| 30 | 30 | | grandchildren, Nicholas, Jace, Cason, Annabella, and Noah |
