| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their |

| 6 | 6 | | memories of Jason Austin Fricks, who passed away on June 2, 2023, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 57; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of E. J. and Gloria Fricks, Jay Fricks was |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | born in Texarkana, Texas, on June 23, 1965, and he grew up with |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | the companionship of two brothers, Clay and Glenn; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Fricks enjoyed a rewarding career as a |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | co-owner of Fricks Butane Gas Company in Texarkana, Arkansas, a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | family business that he ran alongside his brothers; in his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | leisure time, he liked hunting and fishing, and he was an avid fan |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Fricks was devoted to his |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | family; he shared a fulfilling marriage with his wife, Melissa, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and he was the proud father of three children, Haleigh, Gloria, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and Hunter; with the passing years, he had the privilege of |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | seeing his family grow to include three grandchildren, Sophia, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Gabriel, and Carter; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Jay Fricks |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of Jason Austin Fricks and extend sincere condolences to the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | members of his family: to his wife, Melissa Fricks; to his |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | children, Haleigh Rice, Gloria Fricks, and Hunter Cox and his |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | wife, Allie; to his brothers, Clay Fricks and his wife, Maryann, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | and Glenn Fricks and his wife, Phyllis; to his grandchildren, |

| 33 | 33 | | Sophia, Gabriel, and Carter; to his father-in-law, Hayden Coe; |
