SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Articles of impeachment against Warren Kenneth
Paxton Jr., Attorney General of the State of Texas, have been
adopted by the House of Representatives of Texas and have been
presented at the bar of the Senate with the request that the
Senate hear and determine said charges of impeachment; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That said Warren Kenneth Paxton Jr. be and is
hereby notified of the fact of the presentment of said charges,
and that said Attorney General Paxton be and is hereby notified
that September 5, 2023, beginning at 9 a.m., has been set by the
Senate as the time for beginning the hearing on said charges;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That said Warren Kenneth Paxton Jr. be and is
hereby ordered to appear in person and by counsel at or before
9 a.m. on September 5, 2023, in the City of Austin, State of
Texas, at the Chamber of the Texas Senate, to answer the said
charges of impeachment; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of the Senate transmit or
convey to said Warren Kenneth Paxton Jr. a copy of this
resolution and a copy of said articles of impeachment convening
the Senate to sit as a court of impeachment.
