2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize the Jack and Jill of America South Central Region 69th
4	8		Annual Teen Conference, "Black to the Future," which is taking
5	9		place June 15 through June 18, 2023; and
6	10		WHEREAS, Jack and Jill of America is a nonprofit
7	11		organization of mothers committed to nurturing the growth and
8	12		development of future African American Leaders and to preparing
9	13		them for successful lives through advocacy, education,
10	14		philanthropic giving and community events, and civic
11	15		participation; and
12	16		WHEREAS, The organization is represented by more than
13	17		40,000 members in 262 chapters nationwide; each chapter supports
14	18		mothers in their commitment to guide their children by providing
15	19		programs and opportunities for young people to empower
16	20		themselves and to make a difference in their communities; and
17	21		WHEREAS, The South Central Region 69th Annual Teen
18	22		Conference will take place in Dallas, Grand Prairie, and Fort
19	23		Worth; hosted by the Jack and Jill of America Arlington Chapter,
20	24		the event welcomes 1,200 teens, parents, and nonprofit
21	25		associates from 32 chapters in Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas,
22	26		and it will feature leadership development programs, community
23	27		service projects, team competitions, and a formal gala; and
24	28		WHEREAS, The Jack and Jill of America chapters of the South
25	29		Central Region have a profound influence on educational
26	30		development, health advocacy, and cultural awareness, and the
27	31		regional teen officers and executive board are truly deserving of
28	32		recognition for their leadership and hard work; now, therefore,
29	33		be it
30	34		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
31	35		Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the young adult
32	36		members of the Jack and Jill of America South Central Region
33	37		chapters on their commitment to becoming the next generation of
34		-	leaders and extend to them best wishes for a memorable 69th ~~Annual~~
35		-	Teen Conference; and, be it further

36	40		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
