| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Workforce Solutions Greater Dallas is marking its |

| 7 | 7 | | 40th anniversary in 2023, and this milestone provides a fitting |

| 8 | 8 | | opportunity to recognize the organization for its important |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | contributions to the community; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, WFSDallas strives to meet the needs of both |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | businesses seeking employees and area residents seeking work, and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | to that end, it has developed and implemented a multi-faceted |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | system of job training, job placement, and job retention services; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and |

| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Through its seven workforce centers in Dallas |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | County, WFSDallas provides a wide range of virtual and in-person |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | services, including hiring events, customized training, adult |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | education and ESL classes, layoff assistance, and scholarships as |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | well as seminars on resume preparation, interview skills, and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | workplace attire; moreover, the organization subsidizes equipment, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | uniforms, childcare, and transportation to help remove the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | financial barriers to employment; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, In 2023, WFSDallas received the Excellence in |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Community College Partnership Award from the National Association |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | of Workforce Boards, which recognized its integration of education |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | and workforce services with Dallas College; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A robust workforce is a key element in the economic |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | vitality of a community, and over the past four decades, WFSDallas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | has played an important role in the prosperity of the Greater Dallas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | area by helping businesses thrive and jobseekers find meaningful |

| 31 | 31 | | employment; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |

| 33 | 33 | | hereby commemorate the 40th anniversary of Workforce Solutions |
