6	6	WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Shayne Self Priefert of
7	7	Mount Pleasant were deeply saddened by her death on July 7, 2023, at
8	8	the age of 71; and
9	9	WHEREAS, The daughter of Buck and Beatrice Johnson Self, the
10	10	former Shayne Self was born in Pittsburg, Texas, on January 19,
11	11	1952, and she grew up on her family's farm in Cookville with the
12	12	companionship of three siblings, Amber, Mandy, and Tift; she
13	13	attended Cookville School before transferring to Mount Pleasant
14	14	High School, where she graduated in 1970; and
15	15	WHEREAS, She married Bill Priefert, and the couple shared a
16	16	fulfilling union that spanned more than five decades; Mrs. Priefert
17	17	took great pride in their three sons, Eddie, Nathan, and Travis, and
18	18	her cherished family eventually grew to include 11 grandchildren;
19	19	and
20	20	WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mrs. Priefert devoted herself
21	21	to her home and family; she was also an active member of Emmanuel
22	22	Baptist Church in Cookville, where she taught a children's Sunday
23	23	school class for many years; and
24	24	WHEREAS, Shayne Priefert lived a full and generous life
25	25	surrounded by those she loved, and they will forever carry her close
26	26	in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
27	27	RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas,
28	28	2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Shayne Self
29	29	Priefert and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her
30	30	family: to her husband, Bill Priefert; to her sons, Eddie Priefert
31	31	and his wife, Randa, Nathan Priefert and his wife, Bailey, and
32	32	Travis Priefert and his wife, Amanda; to her grandsons, Ethan,
33	33	Landon, Collin, Ayden, Bowdrie, Tucker, and Boone Priefert; to her
34	34	granddaughters, Montgomery, McCoy, McCall, and Preslee Priefert;
35	35	to her sisters, Amber Newman and Mandy Smith and her husband, Danny;
36	36	to her sister-in-law, Vicki Jeter; to her brother-in-law, David
37	37	Bynum; and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it
38	38	further
39	39	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
40	40	prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
41	41	Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
42	42	Shayne Priefert.
