| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Shayne Self Priefert of |

| 6 | 6 | | Mount Pleasant were deeply saddened by her death on July 7, 2023, at |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the age of 71; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Buck and Beatrice Johnson Self, the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | former Shayne Self was born in Pittsburg, Texas, on January 19, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | 1952, and she grew up on her family's farm in Cookville with the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | companionship of three siblings, Amber, Mandy, and Tift; she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | attended Cookville School before transferring to Mount Pleasant |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | High School, where she graduated in 1970; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, She married Bill Priefert, and the couple shared a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | fulfilling union that spanned more than five decades; Mrs. Priefert |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | took great pride in their three sons, Eddie, Nathan, and Travis, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | her cherished family eventually grew to include 11 grandchildren; |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mrs. Priefert devoted herself |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | to her home and family; she was also an active member of Emmanuel |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Baptist Church in Cookville, where she taught a children's Sunday |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | school class for many years; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Shayne Priefert lived a full and generous life |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | surrounded by those she loved, and they will forever carry her close |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | of Shayne Self Priefert and extend heartfelt sympathy to the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | members of her family: to her husband, Bill Priefert; to her sons, |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Eddie Priefert and his wife, Randa, Nathan Priefert and his wife, |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Bailey, and Travis Priefert and his wife, Amanda; to her grandsons, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Ethan, Landon, Collin, Ayden, Bowdrie, Tucker, and Boone Priefert; |

| 33 | 33 | | to her granddaughters, Montgomery, McCoy, McCall, and Preslee |

| 34 | 34 | | Priefert; to her sisters, Amber Newman and Mandy Smith and her |
