| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Kelley McCormick, an assistant criminal district |

| 8 | 9 | | Narcotic Officers Association; and |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1970, the Texas Narcotic Officers |

| 10 | 11 | | Association is a professional training organization for police, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | prosecutors, and other officials who are involved in the |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | enforcement of drug laws in the State of Texas; the TNOA Prosecutor |

| 13 | 14 | | of the Year award recognizes exceptional skill, dedication, and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | effectiveness in prosecuting drug-related crimes; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Kelley McCormick began his career as a prosecutor |

| 16 | 17 | | with the Hidalgo County Criminal DA's Office in 2009, before being |

| 17 | 18 | | assigned to the Border Prosecution Unit in the spring of the |

| 18 | 19 | | following year; as a border prosecutor, he collaborates with local, |

| 19 | 20 | | state, and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Hidalgo |

| 20 | 21 | | County Criminal DA's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task |

| 21 | 22 | | Force, to develop criminal investigations for state or federal |

| 22 | 23 | | prosecution; during the past year, he has evaluated and approved |

| 23 | 24 | | multiple orders and search warrants that have led agents to seize |

| 24 | 25 | | large quantities of narcotics, drug-related bulk currency, and |

| 25 | 26 | | assets derived from illicit drug trafficking activities; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, In addition to providing extensive legal support to |

| 27 | 28 | | HIDTA agents and other personnel, Mr. McCormick is a certified |

| 28 | 29 | | instructor with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and he has |

| 29 | 30 | | coordinated thousands of hours of free training on various legal |

| 30 | 31 | | topics for members of law enforcement; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Through his commitment to the highest standards of |

| 32 | 33 | | his profession, Kelley McCormick has helped promote public safety |

| 33 | 34 | | in the State of Texas, and he is truly deserving of this prestigious |
