| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established in 1970, the Texas Narcotic Officers |

| 10 | 11 | | Association is a professional training organization for police, |

| 11 | 12 | | prosecutors, and other officials who are involved in the |

| 12 | 13 | | enforcement of drug laws in the State of Texas; the TNOA Canine |

| 13 | 14 | | Detection Team of the Year award recognizes exceptional skill, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | dedication, and effectiveness in the field of narcotics detection; |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Deputy Constable Alfonso Fuentes began his career |

| 17 | 18 | | with Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4 in 2015, and four years |

| 18 | 19 | | later, he became a task force officer for the Hidalgo County |

| 19 | 20 | | district attorney's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task |

| 20 | 21 | | Force; his many responsibilities have included executing felony or |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | federal arrest warrants, engaging in pursuits, and establishing |

| 22 | 23 | | probable cause; in addition, he and K9 Max have conducted numerous |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | searches of vehicles traveling along highway corridors in Hidalgo |

| 24 | 25 | | County, and in fiscal year 2022, several of their traffic stops led |

| 25 | 26 | | to the disruption of drug trafficking operations; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Through his commitment to the highest standards of |

| 27 | 28 | | his profession, Alfonso Fuentes has helped promote public safety in |

| 28 | 29 | | the State of Texas, and he and Max are truly deserving of this |

| 29 | 30 | | prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
