| 5 | 5 | | Minskoff Theatre in New York City on June 26; and |

| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The National High School Musical Theatre Awards, |

| 7 | 7 | | better known as the Jimmy Awards, aim to elevate the importance |

| 8 | 8 | | of theater arts education and reward excellence in student |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | performance; since its inception, the program has awarded more |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | than $5 million in educational scholarships; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, One of only two students in the country recognized |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | with this prestigious award, Mr. Lee won best actor for his |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | performance as Dmitry in Rouse High School's production of |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Anastasia, a musical written by Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and Terrence McNally that was adapted from the 1997 animated film |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | about the legend of Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | he earned a $25,000 scholarship to further his education, and at |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | the ceremony, he performed "Wondering" from The Bridges of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Madison County; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lee was nominated for a Jimmy Award after |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | taking home top honors at the 10th annual Heller Awards for Young |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Artists, held on April 19 at the Long Center in Austin; Rouse High |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | School also earned several additional nominations at that event |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | for its presentation of Anastasia, including for best |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | production, best supporting male, best direction, best musical |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | direction, best costume design, and best technical execution, as |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | well as for student achievement in marketing, stage management, |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | and design; and |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Demonstrating exceptional talent and dedication, |

| 30 | 30 | | Langston Lee is a source of great pride to his school and to the |

| 31 | 31 | | Lone Star State, and he may look forward to a future bright with |

| 32 | 32 | | promise; now, therefore, be it |
