| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter F, Chapter 48, Education Code, is | |
| 12 | 12 | amended by adding Section 48.2722 to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | Sec. 48.2722. DEDICATION OF SURPLUS FUNDS. If the amount | |
| 14 | 14 | appropriated to the foundation school fund for a state fiscal year | |
| 15 | 15 | exceeds the amount to which school districts are entitled to | |
| 16 | 16 | receive under Chapter 46 and this chapter for that fiscal year, the | |
| 17 | 17 | excess amount may be appropriated only to increase the basic | |
| 18 | 18 | allotment under Section 48.051. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | |
| 20 | 20 | last day of the legislative session. |
