| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 49, Education Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 49.1541 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 49.1541. CREDIT FOR PREPAYMENT. (a) The total amount |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | required under Section 49.153 for a school district to purchase |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | attendance credit under this subchapter for any school year is |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | reduced by four percent if the district: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (1) elects to pay for credit purchased in the manner |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | provided by Section 49.154(a)(2); and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (2) pays the total amount required to be paid by the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | district not later than February 15 of the school year for which the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | agreement is in effect. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (b) A reduction under Subsection (a) shall be made after |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | making any reduction to which the district is entitled under |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Section 49.157 or another provision of this chapter. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | last day of the legislative session. |
