| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 411, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | amended by adding Section 411.034 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Sec. 411.034. OFFICE IN LIBERTY COUNTY. (a) The Texas |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Highway Patrol division of the department shall maintain an office |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | in Liberty County. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (b) The department shall staff the office with a sufficient |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | number of officers to regularly patrol Liberty County. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | legislative session. |
