77 relating to the renewal of a license to carry a handgun.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 411.185(a), Government Code, is amended
1010 to read as follows:
1111 (a) To renew a license, a license holder must, on or before
1212 the first anniversary of the date the license expires, submit to the
1313 department by mail or, in accordance with the procedure adopted
1414 under Subsection (f), on the Internet:
1515 (1) a renewal application on a form provided by the
1616 department;
1717 (2) payment of a nonrefundable renewal fee of $40; and
1818 (3) the informational form described by Subsection (c)
1919 signed or electronically acknowledged by the applicant.
2020 SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies to a
2121 handgun license that expires before, on, or after the effective
2222 date of this Act.
2323 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2424 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2525 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2626 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2727 Act takes effect on the 91st day after the last day of the
2828 legislative session.
