| 8 | 8 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 29.203(f), Education Code, is amended to | |
| 10 | 10 | read as follows: | |
| 11 | 11 | (f) The school district in which a student resides shall | |
| 12 | 12 | provide each student attending a school in another district under | |
| 13 | 13 | this subchapter transportation free of charge to and from the | |
| 14 | 14 | school the student attends [would otherwise attend]. The agency | |
| 15 | 15 | shall reimburse the school district that provides transportation to | |
| 16 | 16 | a student under this subsection for the costs associated with | |
| 17 | 17 | providing the transportation. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act applies beginning with the 2024-2025 | |
| 19 | 19 | school year. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the | |
| 21 | 21 | last day of the legislative session. |
