56 WHEREAS, The Mabee Foundation is being recognized by the
67 Association of Fundraising Professionals TX, Permian Basin Chapter
78 with the Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation Award on the occasion
89 of National Philanthropy Day on November 16, 2023; and
910 WHEREAS, Officially established by the AFP in 1986, National
1011 Philanthropy Day is an annual observance of the extraordinary
1112 humanitarian efforts of people and organizations around the world;
1213 the event also aims to increase public interest and awareness of the
1314 importance of giving, volunteering, and engaging effectively at the
1415 philanthropic level; and
1516 WHEREAS, The AFP Permian Basin Chapter was founded in 1993
1617 and supports its members by offering a variety of valuable
1718 networking and training opportunities; each year, the group hosts
1819 an NPD event to honor the outstanding work of individuals,
1920 businesses, and organizations in the region that are dedicated to
2021 giving back to the community; and
2122 WHEREAS, National Philanthropy Day provides a welcome
2223 opportunity to recognize those organizations that endeavor to make
2324 the world a better place, and the Mabee Foundation is setting an
2425 admirable example of generosity and civic engagement to which all
2526 may aspire; now, therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas,
2728 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the Mabee Foundation on
2829 receiving the Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation Award from the
2930 Association of Fundraising Professionals TX, Permian Basin Chapter
3031 and extend to all those associated with the organization sincere
3132 best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3233 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3334 prepared for the Mabee Foundation as an expression of high regard by
3435 the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
