| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, God keeps His promises, and the Lord your God is God |

| 7 | 7 | | and is faithful to keep His promises for all time to come; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The promises of God are stated thusly in the Gospel |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | of John: "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand"; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, God has given to us His great and precious promises |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | of love, hope, joy, peace, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | wisdom, and strength to sustain us through the life He has given us; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, God gives power to the weak, and to those who have no |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | might, He increases strength; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid because |

| 18 | 18 | | of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you |

| 19 | 19 | | nor forsake you; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, The promise of God is His word, which is revelation |

| 21 | 21 | | from Him, showing the way of Salvation, through His Son, Jesus |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Christ, the Truth and Life, and encouraging the lives of many; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The Declaration of Independence clearly reveals the |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | fact that America was founded upon Biblical principles and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Christian values; the Bible had great influence on the founding of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | our great nation; and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, God promises to heal our land according to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If My people who are called by My name will |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and |

| 31 | 31 | | heal their land"; now, therefore, be it |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas, |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 3rd Called Session, hereby designate April as Promise Month; and, |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | be it further |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That, in accordance with the provisions of Section |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | 391.004(d), Government Code, this designation remain in effect |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | until the 10th anniversary of the date this resolution is finally |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | passed by the legislature. |
