| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the City of Georgetown, the Annual |

| 9 | 9 | | Georgetown Sculpture Tour is a juried, year-long outdoor exhibition |

| 10 | 10 | | in the city's historic Downtown Cultural District; the sculptures |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | included in this year's tour will remain on display through October |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 2024; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Bonura won first place with her sculpture, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Babywearing Family, which is located at the corner of 7th and Rock |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Streets and depicts a family of five with three young children; |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | inspired by life, love, and family, the piece focuses on the theme |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of connectedness; the original design was sculpted out of clay and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | then enlarged, molded, and cast in concrete; the sculpture was then |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | painted with a bronze metal coating and finished with metal rubs and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | waxes; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Bonura has been sculpting professionally for |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | more than two decades, and over the course of her career, she has |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | garnered widespread acclaim; she became well-known in the early |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | 2000s for her polymer clay portrait sculptures and wedding cake |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | toppers, and her five-foot life-size "bride's cake" brought her |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | international recognition; moreover, her work has appeared on CNN, |

| 27 | 27 | | Inside Edition, HGTV's That's Clever!, and numerous news stories, |

| 28 | 28 | | as well as in several magazines, and her sculptures have been part |

| 29 | 29 | | of the Annual Texas Society of Sculptors Show at the Georgetown |

| 30 | 30 | | Public Library; she is the owner and lead artist at Bonura Studios |

| 31 | 31 | | in Hutto and serves on the board of the Hutto Arts and Entertainment |

| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, A talented artist, Elizabeth Bonura has made |

| 34 | 34 | | important contributions to the cultural vitality of the Georgetown |

| 35 | 35 | | community and beyond, and she is indeed deserving of this |

| 36 | 36 | | prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |

| 37 | 37 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
