| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Falls City Elementary School has been named a 2023 |

| 6 | 6 | | National Blue Ribbon School, one of the most prestigious |

| 7 | 7 | | designations an elementary or secondary school in the United States |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | can receive; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program was created |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | by the U.S. Department of Education in 1982 to recognize campuses |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | that have demonstrated superior academic performance or made |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | notable progress in improving outcomes among economically |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | disadvantaged students; Falls City Elementary was one of only 353 |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | public and private schools nationwide and 29 schools in Texas to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | have earned this impressive honor in 2023; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of principal Jessica Luna, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Falls City Elementary serves approximately 250 students in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | prekindergarten through sixth grade; its faculty places an emphasis |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | on differentiating instruction to meet the individual needs of each |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | student, and as a result of intentional student and staff |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | engagement, the school has seen significant academic and leadership |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | achievement; it was recently honored with an A accountability |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | rating from the Texas Education Agency in 2022; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Through hard work and perseverance, the teachers and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | students of Falls City Elementary have established a record of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | scholastic excellence, and their outstanding efforts have been duly |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | recognized with the Blue Ribbon School award; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Falls City |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Elementary School on its selection as a 2023 National Blue Ribbon |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | School by the U.S. Department of Education and extend to all those |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | associated with the school sincere best wishes for the future; and, |
|---|
