55 WHEREAS, Hipolito Hernandez served his country with great
66 honor and distinction as a member of the United States military, and
77 he is being recognized for his contributions at the Clint Veterans
88 Day Celebration on November 11, 2023; and
99 WHEREAS, Originally celebrated as Armistice Day in
1010 recognition of the end of World War I, Veterans Day now honors all
1111 who have served in the armed forces, including the former members of
1212 the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast
1313 Guard, and National Guard; by upholding America's foundational
1414 values of selflessness and sacrifice, they have helped ensure that
1515 our country's promise will endure for generations to come; and
1616 WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Hipolito
1717 Hernandez served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant; and
1818 WHEREAS, Demonstrating exemplary dedication, Hipolito
1919 Hernandez upheld the highest ideals of the U.S. armed forces during
2020 his years in uniform, and his fellow citizens owe him a lasting debt
2121 of gratitude; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2323 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor Hipolito Hernandez
2424 for his military service on the occasion of the 2023 Clint Veterans
2525 Day Celebration and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
2626 future; and, be it further
2727 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2828 prepared for Mr. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the
2929 Texas House of Representatives.
