| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Fabens Veterans Park Committee is cohosting the |

| 6 | 6 | | Veterans Celebration at Fabens Veterans Park on November 10, 2023; |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In addition to the Veterans Park Committee, the |

| 9 | 9 | | Fabens Veterans Celebration is also being hosted by the Fabens High |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | School Student Council; the event will recognize local veterans for |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | their courageous service and will feature keynote speaker Colonel |

| 12 | 12 | | Kirby "Bo" Dennis; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Originally celebrated as Armistice Day in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | recognition of the end of World War I, Veterans Day now honors all |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | who have served in the armed forces, including the former members of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the U.S. Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast |

| 17 | 17 | | Guard, and National Guard; generations of Texans have been inspired |

| 18 | 18 | | by a deep sense of patriotism and answered their nation's call to |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | duty, and it is indeed appropriate that we reflect on all that has |

| 20 | 20 | | been asked of those who have served and on the immeasurable |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | fortitude and valor with which they have met the challenges before |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | them; now, therefore, be it |

| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the 2023 Fabens |

| 25 | 25 | | Veterans Celebration and honor the members of the Fabens Veterans |
