| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 6 | | passing of Susan Reynolds Eveler of Clint on October 4, 2023, at the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | age of 94; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Dr. William J. and Laura Gates |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Reynolds, the former Susan Reynolds grew up with the companionship |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | of five brothers, William, George, Charles, Alex, and Tommy, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | three sisters, Alice, Virginia, and Mary Ann; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Eveler shared a rewarding marriage with her |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | husband, Pete Vetter Eveler, that spanned 68 years before his |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | passing; she took great pride in her children, Susan, Charles, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | George, Peter, Laura, Catherine, John, Mary, and Judy, as well as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Paul and Michael Anthony, who preceded their mother in death; over |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the years, she had the pleasure of welcoming into her family 19 |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | great-great-grandchild; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Eveler devoted herself to her home and family |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | throughout her life, and she was the matriarch of the Eveler family |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | farm; sustained by her strong faith, she was a source of spiritual |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | guidance and inspiration to her loved ones; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Although Susan Eveler is greatly missed, she has |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | left her family and friends with a wealth of wonderful memories, and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | she will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | of Susan Reynolds Eveler and extend heartfelt sympathy to the |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | members of her family: to her children, Susan, Charles and his wife, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Lanette, George and his wife, Diane, Peter, Laura, Catherine, John |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | and his wife, Jennifer, Mary and her husband, Gabriel, and Judy and |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | her husband, Francis; to her 17 grandchildren, her 24 |

| 35 | 35 | | great-grandchildren, and her great-great grandchild; to her |

| 36 | 36 | | sister, Mary Ann O'Beirne; and to her other relatives and many |
