44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Anagha Deepak, a junior at Round Rock High School,
66 has distinguished herself through her participation in the 2023
77 United States Youth Ambassadors Program in Ecuador; and
88 WHEREAS, Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau
99 of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Youth Ambassadors Program
1010 brings together high school students and adult mentors from across
1111 the western hemisphere to promote mutual understanding, increase
1212 leadership skills, and foster a strong sense of civic
1313 responsibility through in-person and virtual exchange programs;
1414 and
1515 WHEREAS, One of only 18 students selected to visit Ecuador
1616 among thousands of applicants, Anagha Deepak was chosen based on
1717 her exemplary record of service and leadership, as well as her
1818 foreign language and critical thinking skills; as a youth
1919 ambassador in Ecuador, she engaged in various workshops and was
2020 actively involved in a number of community service initiatives,
2121 such as volunteering at a local school and planting a tree in Cumbe;
2222 she also immersed herself in the country's cultural practices and
2323 met with personnel at the U.S. Consulate in Guayaquil in order to
2424 present her ideas on multicultural areas that can help advance the
2525 long-standing relationship between the U.S. and Ecuador; and
2626 WHEREAS, For the final phase of her journey as a youth
2727 ambassador, Ms. Deepak is undertaking a project benefiting the
2828 Greater Austin community this fall; in recognition of her many
2929 achievements, she has accrued numerous accolades and awards,
3030 including the President's Volunteer Service Gold Award,
3131 Congressional Award Bronze and Silver Medals, and a Mayor's Special
3232 Recognition Award from Round Rock mayor Craig Morgan; and
3333 WHEREAS, Anagha Deepak has demonstrated remarkable drive and
3434 initiative in working toward her goals, and she may indeed reflect
3535 with pride on her accomplishments as she looks forward to a future
3636 bright with promise; now, therefore, be it
3737 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3838 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Anagha Deepak for
3939 her participation in the 2023 U.S. Youth Ambassadors Program in
4040 Ecuador and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
4141 success; and, be it further
4242 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4343 prepared for Ms. Deepak as an expression of high regard by the Texas
4444 House of Representatives.
