44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close
66 with the passing of Jean Ellen Schwiening Jacoby of Junction on
77 September 7, 2023, at the age of 79; and
88 WHEREAS, Born in Sherman on October 4, 1943, the former Jean
99 Schwiening was the daughter of Alfred Schwiening Jr. and Sara
1010 Schwiening; she graduated from high school at the age of 16 and went
1111 to finishing school before attending Austin College, where she
1212 graduated with a degree in English and history; she later obtained
1313 her master's degree in counseling at Angelo State University; and
1414 WHEREAS, Mrs. Jacoby enjoyed a rewarding career in education
1515 that spanned three decades, teaching in Connecticut, South
1616 Carolina, Texas, and Poland; beloved by her students, she retired
1717 as a counselor at Junction High School; and
1818 WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Jacoby benefited from the
1919 love and support of her husband, Ray Jacoby, until his passing; she
2020 took great pride in her three children, Alfred, Bryan, and Ashley,
2121 and her two stepchildren, Jana and Randa, and with the passing
2222 years, her treasured family grew to include numerous grandchildren
2323 and great-grandchildren; she took pleasure in traveling with her
2424 husband and friends and in cooking and volunteering in the
2525 community; and
2626 WHEREAS, Although Jean Jacoby is greatly missed, memories of
2727 her vibrant personality, her wit, and her devotion to her loved ones
2828 remain to inspire those she leaves behind, and she will forever hold
2929 a special place in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough
3030 to know her; now, therefore, be it
3131 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3232 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
3333 Jean Ellen Schwiening Jacoby and extend heartfelt condolences to
3434 the members of her family: to her children, Alfred Campbell and his
3535 wife, Sara, Bryan Campbell and his wife, Brandy, and Ashley Craig
3636 and her husband, Dwayne; to her stepchildren, Jana Pridemore and
3737 her husband, Shane, and Randa Jacoby; to her grandchildren,
3838 Michele, Charlie, Nick, Nelson, Al, Anna-Kate, and Abigail; to her
3939 step-grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsey, Bannon, and Jacy; to her
4040 great-grandchildren; to her sister, Clara St. Clair; and to her
4141 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
4242 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4343 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4444 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jean
4545 Jacoby.
