| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | passing of the Honorable Peggy Diane Ragsdale of Mason on |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | September 3, 2023, at the age of 71; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Bill Ira and Sara Lee Smith, the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | former Peggy Smith was born in Mason on October 22, 1951, and she |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | grew up with the companionship of three brothers, Terry, Ronnie, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and Rick; she enjoyed a long and rewarding career as justice of the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | peace for Kimble County until her retirement; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, She married Billy Lee "Dooker" Ragsdale in Junction |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | on January 9, 1981, and the couple shared many happy years together |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | before his passing; Mrs. Ragsdale took great pride in her sons, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Michael and Robert Darnell, and her family eventually grew to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | include nine grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, While the death of Peggy Ragsdale brings |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | immeasurable sorrow to her family and friends, she leaves behind a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | record of service that will long be treasured by all those who held |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | her dear; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | of Peggy Diane Ragsdale and extend heartfelt sympathy to the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | members of her family: to her sons, Michael and Robert Darnell; to |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | her brother, Rick Smith, and his wife, Debra; to her grandchildren; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | and to her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Peggy |
|---|
