| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 6 | | of Eula Mae Griffith West, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Horace Griffith and Sadie Skinner |

| 9 | 9 | | Griffith, the former Eula Griffith was born in Bayou Chicot, |

| 10 | 10 | | Louisiana, on March 24, 1954, and she grew up with the companionship |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | of eight brothers and five sisters; she devoted herself to her faith |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | at a young age, and she was baptized at Morning Pilgrim Baptist |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Church; she graduated from Bayou Chicot High School in Ville |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Platte, Louisiana, in 1971; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. West was the proud mother of two children, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Elijah and LaTosha; over the years, she had the pleasure of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | welcoming into her family four grandchildren, Mariah, Elijah, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Isiah, and Kingston, and two great-grandchildren, Taliah and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Az'Ryel; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Eula West led a life of caring devotion to her loved |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | ones, and although she is deeply missed, her spirit will forever |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |

| 25 | 25 | | of Eula Mae Griffith West and extend sincere condolences to the |

| 26 | 26 | | members of her family: to her son, Elijah M. "Mark" West Sr.; to her |

| 27 | 27 | | daughter, LaTosha M. West; to her granddaughter, Mariah J. West; to |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | her grandsons, Elijah West Jr. and his wife, Jada, Isiah West, and |

| 29 | 29 | | Kingston Ernest Fields-West; to her great-granddaughter, Taliah |
