| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. John Redman of Chambers Health has set an |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | inspiring example by participating in nine medical mission trips to |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | five different countries; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A board-certified physician, Dr. Redman practices |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | family and emergency medicine at Chambers Health, where he serves |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | patients in the Anahuac area; beyond the scope of his work at the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | clinic, he has traveled to Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and Moldova to provide medical care to people in need; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Last September, Dr. Redman was part of a team with |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Global Health Outreach, a short-term international missions |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | program that visited Nicaragua for a week to perform a variety of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | health care services for underserved residents; the team treated |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | approximately 900 patients of all ages, to whom they provided |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | medical and dental care, medications, and even reading glasses at |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | no cost; members of the group even ventured into the mountains to |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | deliver medications and a walker to a patient who was unable to |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | travel to their temporary clinic; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, By sharing his time and expertise to serve people |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | across the globe, Dr. John Redman has demonstrated the strength of |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | his commitment to helping others, and he is truly deserving of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend Dr. John Redman for |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | taking part in overseas medical mission trips and extend to him |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | sincere best wishes for continued success with his important work; |
|---|
