 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The members of the East Chambers High School
 football team distinguished themselves by winning the 2023 Swamp
 Bowl over Anahuac High School; and
 WHEREAS, An annual showdown between the District 10-3A
 rivals, the 2023 edition of the game took place on October 13 at
 Buccaneer Stadium in Winnie; and
 WHEREAS, The teams battled to a near draw in the first half,
 with the Anahuac Panthers taking an 8-7 lead into the locker room;
 the Buccaneers took command in the second half, scoring on their
 first possession and then cashing in a turnover to up their
 advantage to 21-8 in the third quarter; after Anahuac narrowed the
 gap to 21-15, East Chambers slammed the door on its foe in the final
 frame, scoring on a fumble recovery, delivering key stops on fourth
 down attempts, and adding a final touchdown with less than two
 minutes remaining; the Buccaneers emerged victorious by the final
 score of 35-15 after racking up 344 total yards of offense in the
 contest; and
 WHEREAS, By triumphing in the 2023 Swamp Bowl, the East
 Chambers Buccaneers have become a source of great pride to their
 school and their community, and they are indeed deserving of
 special recognition for this impressive accomplishment on the
 gridiron; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the East
 Chambers High School football team on its victory in the 2023 Swamp
 Bowl and extend to the players, coaches, and staff sincere best
 wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Buccaneers as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
