| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The City of Mont Belvieu is hosting the grand |

| 6 | 6 | | opening of its new city hall and fire station on November 14, 2023; |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The new facilities will serve to anchor what the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | city has envisioned as a livable, mixed-use downtown area and to |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | replace the old municipal complex, which was built in 1991; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mont Belvieu broke ground on the city hall on |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | March 18, 2021; encompassing nearly 31,000 square feet, the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | building will house a majority of the city's departments, allowing |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | for more efficient interdepartmental collaboration and improved |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | customer service for residents; the structure includes multiple |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | conference rooms and additional space for future growth; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Located across the street from the new city hall, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Mont Belvieu Fire Station 1 will enable the city's volunteer |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | firefighters and full-time paramedics to better serve the community |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and achieve faster response times; the station has such amenities |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | as a public lobby with a treatment room for walk-in patients, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | training and fitness rooms, dormitories, and decontamination |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | facilities; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Mont Belvieu's impressive new city hall and fire |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | station are sure to be a significant resource to the community for |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | years to come, and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | vision, leadership, and hard work of those who helped bring this |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | project to fruition; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commemorate the grand |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | opening of the new city hall and fire station in Mont Belvieu and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | commend all those who have contributed to this endeavor for their |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | efforts; and, be it further |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
