55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to the confidentiality of certain information for a
88 current or former administrative law judge for the State Office of
99 Administrative Hearings.
1010 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1111 SECTION 1. Section 552.117, Government Code, is amended by
1212 adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
1313 (a-1) In addition to the exceptions provided by Subsection
1414 (a), information is excepted from the requirements of Section
1515 552.021 if it is information that:
1616 (1) relates to the home address, home telephone
1717 number, emergency contact information, or social security number of
1818 a current or former administrative law judge for the State Office of
1919 Administrative Hearings, regardless of whether the person complies
2020 with Section 552.024 or 552.1175; or
2121 (2) reveals whether a person described by Subdivision
2222 (1) has family members.
2323 SECTION 2. Section 552.1175, Government Code, is amended by
2424 adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows:
2525 (a-1) In addition to the individuals described by
2626 Subsection (a), this section applies to a current or former
2727 administrative law judge for the State Office of Administrative
2828 Hearings.
2929 SECTION 3. Section 25.025, Tax Code, is amended by adding
3030 Subsection (a-2) to read as follows:
3131 (a-2) In addition to the individuals described by
3232 Subsection (a), this section applies to a current or former
3333 administrative law judge for the State Office of Administrative
3434 Hearings.
3535 SECTION 4. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
3636 a request for information that is received by a governmental body or
3737 an officer on or after the effective date of this Act. A request for
3838 information that was received before the effective date of this Act
3939 is governed by the law in effect on the date the request was
4040 received, and the former law is continued in effect for that
4141 purpose.
4242 SECTION 5. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the
4343 last day of the legislative session.
