| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 6.412(c), Tax Code, is amended to read as |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (c) Except as otherwise provided by this subsection, a [A] |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | person is ineligible to serve on the appraisal review board if the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | person is a member of the board of directors, [an] officer, or |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | employee of the appraisal district, an employee of the comptroller, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | or a member of the governing body, officer, or employee of a taxing |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | unit. A person employed by a school district as a teacher may serve |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | on the appraisal review board. |

| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | last day of the legislative session. |
