56 WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Mary Sue Cole were
6- deeply saddened by her death on December 8, 2022, at the age of
7- 86; and
7+ deeply saddened by her death on December 8, 2022, at the age of 86;
8+ and
89 WHEREAS, Mary Cole was born to Oscar and Ella Mae Dixon on
9- September 16, 1936, in Smith County; a 1954 graduate of Troup
10- High School, she spent the majority of her career as an ob-gyn
11- nurse, and she volunteered at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler in
12- retirement; she was also an active member of the Order of the
13- Eastern Star and a dedicated congregant of First Baptist Church
14- of Mixon; and
15- WHEREAS, Mrs. Cole enjoyed a rewarding family life with
16- her husband, Joe Cole, and their children, Becky, Scott, Jody,
17- John, Jeffery, and Jay, and she delighted in her role as "Mimi" to
18- her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; in her
19- leisure time, she took great pleasure in traveling and playing
20- cards and 42; and
21- WHEREAS, Although Mary Cole is deeply missed, those who
22- held her dear will forever remember the warmth and joy she
23- brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it
24- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
25- Texas, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory of
26- Mary Sue Cole and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her
27- passing; and, be it further
