2	6		WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
3	7		recognize Interfaith of The Woodlands on the occasion of the
4	8		organization's 50th anniversary; and
5	9		WHEREAS, Founded in 1973 by George P. Mitchell to serve the
6	10		needs of local communities in accordance with the values of
7	11		compassion and neighborly love, Interfaith of The Woodlands is a
8	12		nonprofit organization that seeks to foster connection among
9	13		area residents, social services and support programs, local
10	14		businesses and congregations, and charitable groups to provide a
11	15		comprehensive array of resources to The Woodlands and
12	16		surrounding communities; and
13	17		WHEREAS, Interfaith of The Woodlands supports new
14	18		congregations and social services programs and works with member
15	19		congregations, agencies, and nonprofit organizations to develop
16	20		and promote efforts that serve members of the community; the
17	21		organization has helped to enable access to such programs and
18	22		services as counseling, job training, and child care as well as
19	23		programs for seniors and financial assistance for individuals
20	24		and families in crisis that benefit thousands of area residents
21	25		annually; and
22	26		WHEREAS, This year, the organization will host an
23	27		anniversary dinner on October 18, 2023, in celebration of 50
24	28		years of service, and it is truly fitting that this exemplary
25	29		organization receive special recognition on its invaluable
26	30		contributions to The Woodlands community and to the residents of
27	31		Texas; now, therefore, be it
28	32		RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
29	33		Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend the members,
30	34		volunteers, and supporters of Interfaith of The Woodlands on
31	35		their outstanding dedication to the organization's mission and
32	36		extend to all best wishes for a memorable 50th anniversary
33	37		celebration and for continued success in their endeavors; and, be
34	38		it further
35	39		RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in
36	40		honor of this special occasion.
