| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The prosperity of the Lone Star State has been |

| 3 | 3 | | greatly influenced by family farming and ranching, and Betty Royal |

| 4 | 4 | | Rackley of Atascosa County has been officially recognized as heir |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | to this proud tradition with the acceptance of the Old Fuller Place |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | into the state's Family Land Heritage Program in 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Texas Department of Agriculture, |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | this program honors farms and ranches that have been in |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | continuous agricultural operation by the same family for a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | century or more; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, William Barton Fuller moved to Atascosa County |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | with his parents, John S. and Rebecca Fuller, and he grew up in a |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | pioneer home centered around a life of ranching; in 1900, he |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | acquired 191 acres of land from the Jose Peche original tract, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | where he raised cattle; he later passed the ranch down to his son, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Guy Fuller, who in turn transferred ownership to his nephew, Ned |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Royal; today, the Old Fuller Place is owned by Betty Royal |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Rackley, the great-granddaughter of the founder, and it |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | continues to produce beef cattle; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In preserving her property as a working ranch, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Betty Rackley is making her own contribution to her family's |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | legacy, and it is indeed fitting that she be honored for her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | outstanding stewardship; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate Betty Royal |

| 26 | 26 | | Rackley on the induction of the Old Fuller Place into the Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Department of Agriculture Family Land Heritage Program and extend |

| 28 | 28 | | to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
