| 2 | 2 | | WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |

| 3 | 3 | | recognize Columbus Community Hospital on its recent facility |
|---|
| 4 | 4 | | expansion and renovation and on its commitment to providing |
|---|
| 5 | 5 | | high-quality health care to the residents of Columbus and the |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | surrounding areas; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Columbus Community Hospital is a nonprofit |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | community hospital that operates without a county or hospital |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | district and is one of the largest employers in the area; the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | hospital has provided more than $2 million in uncompensated |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | patient care, and it has been recognized among the top |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | hospitals nationwide on multiple occasions; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, In 2021, Columbus Community Hospital launched |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | its expansion project with the aim of updating and expanding |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | both inpatient and outpatient care facilities and establishing |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | a wellness center with a range of amenities; the project was |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | carried out without the use of local, state tax funds or |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | federal funding, and its completion has enabled the hospital |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to serve a greater number of patients and to offer a broader |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | range of health care options; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The project involved the addition of a new |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | facility space, including new patient exam rooms, four |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | additional nursery bays, and a new anesthesia care unit |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | equipped with 10 recovery beds and two pre-operative beds; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | renovation efforts included updates to the hospital's |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | emergency rooms, labor and delivery room, nurses' station, and |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | medical office building, and in 2022, the hospital opened its |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Wellness Center offering state-of-the-art fitness equipment, |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | an indoor track, a group fitness studio, physical therapy |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | services, a pool, and a demonstration kitchen; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Columbus Community Hospital has shown outstanding |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | dedication in serving the residents of the Columbus area, and it |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | is truly fitting that this exemplary institution receive special |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | recognition on its ongoing commitment to providing exceptional |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | care to the people of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby commend all associated |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | with Columbus Community Hospital on their outstanding |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | contributions to public health and wellness in the state and |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |

| 42 | 42 | | Columbus Community Hospital as an expression of esteem from the |
|---|
