26 WHEREAS, CentroMed, a nonprofit community health center in
3- San Antonio, is celebrating 50 years of service to the community
4- on November 10, 2023; and

59 WHEREAS, Incorporated as El Centro del Barrio in November
610 1973, CentroMed provides medical, dental, and behavioral health
711 services to families residing in San Antonio, New Braunfels,
812 Schertz, Cibolo, Somerset, Windcrest, and Converse; its flagship
9- clinic, the South Park Medical Care Clinic, opened in 1981, and
10- its locations have since grown to include clinics throughout the
11- San Antonio area that specialize in family medicine, pediatrics,
12- and dental care; CentroMed is known for providing quality,
13- affordable health care to low-income individuals and families,
14- 92 percent of whom earn less than 150 percent of the U.S. federal
15- poverty level; and
13+ clinic, the South Park Medical Care Clinic, opened in 1981, and its
14+ locations have since grown to include clinics throughout the San
15+ Antonio area that specialize in family medicine, pediatrics, and

18- who is recognized for his vision and commitment to improving the
19- health and well-being of the community; during the 2022 fiscal
20- year, CentroMed served more than 120,000 patients and received
21- nearly 400,000 office visits; and

27- its existence; now, therefore, be it
28- RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
29- Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby honor CentroMed on the
30- occasion of its 50th anniversary and extend to its board members,
31- physicians, clinicians, dentists, counselors, leadership, and
32- support staff sincere best wishes for continued success with
33- their important work; and, be it further
28+ countless San Antonio area residents, and it is a pleasure to join
29+ in commemorating this significant milestone and in recognizing all
