| 6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Deb Shaw of the Midland Independent School District |

| 7 | 7 | | has been recognized as the 2023 Administrator of the Year by Texas |

|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This prestigious honor acknowledges the |

| 10 | 10 | | contributions of outstanding school administrators who have |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | demonstrated exemplary support for educational theatre; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, With more than three decades of experience in fine |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | arts education, Ms. Shaw has served as Midland ISD's fine arts |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | director for the past 18 years, and over the course of her tenure, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | she has distinguished herself through her passion for the arts as |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | well as her exceptional organizational and managerial skills; under |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | her able leadership, the Midland High School theatre program earned |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | a number of accolades for its performance of A Midsummer Night's |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Dream at the Texas Thespians State Festival in San Antonio, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | including awards for best costume design, set design, and technical |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | crew; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Through her dedication, expertise, and commitment |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | to excellence, Deb Shaw has made a positive difference in the lives |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | of countless students, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | recognizing this esteemed administrator; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the 88th Legislature of the State of Texas, |

| 27 | 27 | | 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Deb Shaw on her selection |

| 28 | 28 | | as the 2023 Administrator of the Year by Texas Thespians and extend |

| 29 | 29 | | to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
