| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Established in 2009, the Northside Sports |

| 9 | 9 | | Association offers student-athletes who are homeschooled or attend |

| 10 | 10 | | private or charter schools the opportunity to play football in a |

| 11 | 11 | | competitive league environment; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In the course of the 2023 campaign, Northside went |

| 13 | 13 | | undefeated in the regular season and claimed the Texas Homeschool |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Football state championship by defeating the Dallas HSAA Angels on |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | November 4; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The Lions then advanced to the inaugural American |

| 17 | 17 | | Homeschool Football Championship national tournament in Mobile, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Alabama; after besting the Grand Valley Patriots from Michigan on |

| 19 | 19 | | November 16, Northside took the field against the Georgia Force |

| 20 | 20 | | Blue Knights two days later to battle for the title; relying on |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | their stifling defense and explosive offense, the Lions emerged |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | triumphant by the final score of 34-6; with the victory, the team |

| 23 | 23 | | clinched its first football national championship and ended with a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | perfect 13-0 record; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Northside was paced by running back and linebacker |

| 26 | 26 | | Karston Jergenson, the tournament Most Valuable Player, and he was |

| 27 | 27 | | joined on the All-Tournament Team by Kole Alexander, Joseph |

| 28 | 28 | | Buchanan, Kohein Jergenson, and Ethan McMillan; throughout the |

| 29 | 29 | | year, the Lions received vital contributions from each member of |

| 30 | 30 | | the roster, and these dedicated student-athletes benefited from the |

| 31 | 31 | | guidance of head coach Mike Helmer and his staff; and |

| 32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Through countless hours of hard work and an |

| 33 | 33 | | unwavering commitment to excellence, the Northside Lions realized |

| 35 | 35 | | accomplishments are a source of great pride to their many |
