5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |

6 | 6 | | passing of Judith Morrow Boyd Hirschfeld of San Angelo on |
---|
7 | 7 | | October 7, 2023, at the age of 83; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Lillian and Preston Morrow, the |
---|
9 | 9 | | former Judith Morrow was born on February 9, 1940, in Rotan, and she |
---|
10 | 10 | | grew up with the companionship of a brother, Preston; she graduated |
---|
11 | 11 | | from Texas Tech University; during her marriage to her first |
---|
12 | 12 | | husband, the late William Boyd, she proudly supported his career in |
---|
13 | 13 | | the U.S. Air Force and served as a schoolteacher wherever they were |
---|
14 | 14 | | stationed; she later became the volunteer coordinator for Hospice |
---|
15 | 15 | | of San Angelo; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In 1992, Mrs. Hirschfeld married David Hirschfeld, |
---|
17 | 17 | | and the couple enjoyed a rewarding union that spanned more than |
---|
18 | 18 | | three decades; together, they contributed to many charitable |
---|
19 | 19 | | organizations, and she became especially passionate about animals; |
---|
20 | 20 | | over the years, she was active in Weimaraner rescue efforts and |
---|
21 | 21 | | adopted numerous dogs; in 2020, she and her husband opened the |
---|
22 | 22 | | Judith and David Hirschfeld Adoption Center for Concho Valley PAWS; |
---|
23 | 23 | | she was also involved in local and national Republican politics; |
---|
24 | 24 | | moreover, she was a valued congregant of the First Methodist Church |
---|
25 | 25 | | in San Angelo, where she volunteered with the children and youth |
---|
26 | 26 | | ministries; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Above all else, Mrs. Hirschfeld took great pride in |
---|
28 | 28 | | her cherished family, which grew to include her son, Ted, and |
---|
29 | 29 | | grandsons, Harrison and Hayden, as well as Mr. Hirschfeld's |
---|
30 | 30 | | children, David, Shawnee, Kendall, and Wendall, and his |
---|
31 | 31 | | grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Judith Hirschfeld lived a rich and purposeful life |
---|
33 | 33 | | dedicated to her loved ones, her faith, and her community, and she |
---|
34 | 34 | | earned the lasting respect and admiration of all who were |
---|
35 | 35 | | privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it |
---|
36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
37 | 37 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
---|
38 | 38 | | of Judith Morrow Boyd Hirschfeld and extend sincere condolences to |
---|
39 | 39 | | all who mourn her passing; and, be it further |
---|
40 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

41 | 41 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |

42 | 42 | | Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Judith |
