44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the
66 passing of Judith Morrow Boyd Hirschfeld of San Angelo on
77 October 7, 2023, at the age of 83; and
88 WHEREAS, The daughter of Lillian and Preston Morrow, the
99 former Judith Morrow was born on February 9, 1940, in Rotan, and she
1010 grew up with the companionship of a brother, Preston; she graduated
1111 from Texas Tech University; during her marriage to her first
1212 husband, the late William Boyd, she proudly supported his career in
1313 the U.S. Air Force and served as a schoolteacher wherever they were
1414 stationed; she later became the volunteer coordinator for Hospice
1515 of San Angelo; and
1616 WHEREAS, In 1992, Mrs. Hirschfeld married David Hirschfeld,
1717 and the couple enjoyed a rewarding union that spanned more than
1818 three decades; together, they contributed to many charitable
1919 organizations, and she became especially passionate about animals;
2020 over the years, she was active in Weimaraner rescue efforts and
2121 adopted numerous dogs; in 2020, she and her husband opened the
2222 Judith and David Hirschfeld Adoption Center for Concho Valley PAWS;
2323 she was also involved in local and national Republican politics;
2424 moreover, she was a valued congregant of the First Methodist Church
2525 in San Angelo, where she volunteered with the children and youth
2626 ministries; and
2727 WHEREAS, Above all else, Mrs. Hirschfeld took great pride in
2828 her cherished family, which grew to include her son, Ted, and
2929 grandsons, Harrison and Hayden, as well as Mr. Hirschfeld's
3030 children, David, Shawnee, Kendall, and Wendall, and his
3131 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
3232 WHEREAS, Judith Hirschfeld lived a rich and purposeful life
3333 dedicated to her loved ones, her faith, and her community, and she
3434 earned the lasting respect and admiration of all who were
3535 privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3737 Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
3838 of Judith Morrow Boyd Hirschfeld and extend sincere condolences to
3939 all who mourn her passing; and, be it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4242 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Judith
4343 Hirschfeld.
