55 WHEREAS, The Liberty Christian School volleyball team once
66 again reached the pinnacle of success by winning the 2023 TAPPS 5A
77 state championship on November 10th, 2023; and
88 WHEREAS, The team of sixteen girls and three managers ended
99 their incredible season with a record of thirty five wins and only
1010 seven losses; and
1111 WHEREAS, Following a successful regular season, the Lady
1212 Warriors dominated their exciting playoff run by sweeping Lutheran
1313 South High School in all three games; and
1414 WHEREAS, These talented athletes were guided during their
1515 championship quest by head coach Megan Degroot and assistant
1616 coaches Madyson Hillis, Matti Dabovich, and Shannon Tauaefa; and
1717 WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
1818 culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
1919 commitment to excellence, and these talented student-athletes will
2020 treasure the memory of this accomplishment for the rest of their
2121 lives; now, therefore, be it
2222 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2323 Legislature hereby congratulate the Liberty Christian School
2424 volleyball team on winning the 2023 TAPPS 5A state championship for
2525 a second year in a row and extend to the team's players, coaches,
2626 and staff sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
2727 further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3030 House of Representatives.
