| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Beth Marie's Old Fashioned Ice Cream is celebrating |

| 6 | 6 | | its 25th anniversary in 2023, and this occasion provides a welcome |

| 7 | 7 | | opportunity to pay tribute to this venerable North Texas business; |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Original owners Beth Marie and Randy Cox opened the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | business's first parlor on the historic Denton Square in November |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | 1998; in the years that followed, that location became a popular |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | destination for local residents and visitors alike, and Beth |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Marie's has since opened two additional locations in the area; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Using Emery Thompson machines designed in 1927, Beth |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Marie's produces more than 150 flavors of ice cream, with the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | selections changing seasonally; in addition to its in-store |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | offerings, the business sells its products to 50 commercial clients |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | across North Texas; today, the organization benefits from the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | leadership of owners Ken Willis, Bob Moses, and Pat Engelbrecht as |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | well as regional manager Margaret Rich; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Independent businesses that reflect the unique |

| 22 | 22 | | spirit of their communities are to be commended for the vital role |

| 23 | 23 | | they play in the prosperity of the Lone Star State, and Beth Marie's |

| 24 | 24 | | Old Fashioned Ice Cream is indeed deserving of recognition for its |

| 25 | 25 | | quarter century of success; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Beth Marie's |
